Tratamiento Liquenia ®

Terapia Clínica para el Liquen Escleroso Vulvar

What is Liquenia Treatment for Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus (VLS)?

The Liquenia Treatment consists of using the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties of adipose tissue and the regenerative properties of the patient’s own Platelet Rich Plasma growth factors for the treatment of Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus.

All this based on the Liquenia study that was carried out during the years 2017-2020 at La Fe Hospital and La Fe Health Research Institute.

What improvements does the Liquenia Treatment produce?

The Liquenia Treatment has produced an improvement in the main symptoms of Lichen sclerosus vulvae:

  • Pain during sexual intercourse (dyspareunia).
  • Improvement of erosions, fissures, white plaques and the appearance of the vulvar mucosa.
  • It has also produced an improvement of itching in terms of duration, intensity, degree and disability it produces.
  • The Liquenia Treatment has resulted in improvement of erosions and fissures and pathological anatomy of biopsies of patients with vulvar lichen sclerosus.
  • Quality of life is a measure of well-being and with this treatment we have been able to improve the quality of life of patients with vulvar lichen sclerosus.
  • As we can assume, the sexual function of patients affected by vulvar lichen sclerosus is very affected. After the Liquenia ® Treatment, patients significantly improved their sexual function.
The Liquenia Treatment consists of using the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties of adipose tissue and the regenerative properties of the patient's own Platelet Rich Plasma growth factors to treat Lichen Sclerosus Vulvae.

Why the Liquenia Treatment?

Topical corticosteroids are currently the first line of treatment. Although they can control symptoms in more than 50% of patients, they hardly produce remissions of the disease.

Liquenia Treatment emerges as a new treatment pathway for vulvar lichen sclerosus in patients who after treatment with potent topical corticosteroids have seen no response or improvement.

Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus can be treated with stem cells and PRP (platelet rich plasma).
